DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT

As my first short film and a key component of my application to the BFA film program at CCNY, “Men Are Still Good” holds a special place in my journey as a filmmaker. I took on multiple roles in its creation - writing, editing, shooting, and producing - alongside a dedicated group of friends who shared in my vision. The choice to make the film silent was a requirement for the application process at CCNY, a challenge I came to embrace to focus on the visual language of cinema. This approach allowed us to tell a story that resonates on a deeper level, where emotions and actions speak louder than words. The production process was a journey of discovery and learning, shaping not only the film itself but also my understanding and appreciation of the art of filmmaking.
